Roots Crossing
is a guitar music album by guitarist and composer Francis Leclerc. It includes six original compositions and two songs from singer-songwriter Richard Desjardins adapted for guitar. Inspired by multiple sources (flamenco and Brasilian guitar, pop and north american folk music), the album conveys the artist’s own themes such as country life, solitude, belonging, meeting, joyfulness, and resilience. Francis Leclerc is a guitarist, composer, arranger and ethnomusicologist. Holding a degree in classical guitar, he specialized in flamenco guitar and is now exploring a wide variety of fingerstyle guitar styles from which he draws his inspiration to compose.
